Embark on an unforgettable journey to Bhrigu Lake, a stunning high-altitude glacial lake nestled in the Himalayas of Himachal Pradesh. This 3-day trek takes you through lush meadows, dense forests, and breathtaking alpine landscapes, offering panoramic views of Hanuman Tibba, Friendship Peak, and the Dhauladhar Range. The trek is not only a treat for adventure seekers but also holds spiritual significance, as the lake is believed to be the meditation site of Sage Bhrigu.
Itinerary
We have carefully planned out each day to give you the best possible experience. From exploring historic landmarks to tasting delicious local cuisine, each day is packed with adventure and excitement. Join us as we take you on a journey through some of the most fascinating destinations in the world.
- Day 1: Old Manali to Moridugh (2900m, 3-4 hrs)
- Day 2: Trek to Bhrigu Lake (4300m, 8-9 hrs) & return to Moridugh
- Day 3: Trek back to Kulang Village & Drive to Manali (3-4 hrs)
Tour Plan
- Day 1: Old Manali to Moridugh (2900mts) (3/4 Hrs) – Report at Travelwith_Bug office in Old Manali in the morning, freshen up and drive to the trekking point at Kulang. Trek from Kulang to Moridugh for around 3-4 hours through an ancient British route passing through dense forests. Enjoy a pleasant stay at the campsite in the evening.
- Day 2: Trek to Bhrigu Lake (4300m, 8-9Hrs) – Begin the trek early in the morning after breakfast. The trek offers mesmerizing views of the Dhauladhar Range, Hanuman Tibba (5928m), Manali Peak, and Friendship Peak. Experience walking in snow and reach Bhrigu Lake, a sacred spot believed to be the meditating place of Rishi Bhrigu. Spend time capturing photographs before returning to the campsite in the evening for an overnight stay with a bonfire.
- Day 3: Trek back to Kulang Village & Drive to Manali (3/4 Hrs) – After breakfast, descend from Moridugh to Kulang village, the same place where the trek started. A car will pick you up from Kulang village and drop you at Old Manali, concluding the trek with beautiful memories.
What to Pack
- Photo ID proof
- Good quality hiking shoes
- Waterproof rucksack
- Three sets of dry clothes
- One pair of warm clothes
- Woollen clothing: Jacket (at least 2 pairs), gloves, raincoat, thermals
- Two waterproof tracksuits/trousers
- Bath towel and napkin
- 3-4 pairs of cotton socks
- Slippers/floaters
- Water bag/water bottle (avoid plastic bottles)
- Torch with extra batteries
- Cap and sunglasses
- Day pack
- Sanitary requisites: Bath soap, toothpaste, toothbrush, shampoo, etc.
- Binoculars & camera (optional, with charger)
- Pack all items in a rucksack for easy carrying
- Avoid plastic/polythene bags, disposable items, ornaments & valuables
