Dayara Bugyal, one of the most picturesque alpine meadows in Uttarakhand, is a paradise for trekkers and nature lovers. Situated at an altitude of around 12,000 feet, it offers breathtaking views of snow-capped peaks, rolling green pastures, and dense forests. Ideal for both summer and winter treks, this hidden gem transforms into a lush green haven post-monsoon and a snow-covered wonderland in winter.
Itinerary
We have carefully planned out each day to give you the best possible experience. From exploring historic landmarks to tasting delicious local cuisine, each day is packed with adventure and excitement. Join us as we take you on a journey through some of the most fascinating destinations in the world.
Day 1 – Dehradun to Raitha village
Day 2 – Raitha village to Gui Camp
Day 3 – Gui Camp to Dayara Bhugyal Summit
Day 4 – Gui Camp to Raitha Village & same day Dehradun
Tour Plan
- Day 1: Pick up from Dehradun railway station – Drive to Raithal Village (175 km, 7-8 hours, 7,423 feet) – Overnight stay at hotel
- Day 2: Trek from Raithal Village to Gui Camp (4.5 km, 4-5 hours, 9,884 feet) – Overnight stay at camp
- Day 3: Trek from Gui Camp to Dayara Bugyal summit (11,181 feet) via Chilapada Camp – Return to Gui Camp (12 km, 8-9 hours) – Overnight stay at camp
- Day 4: Trek from Gui Camp to Raithal Village (4.5 km, 3-4 hours) – Same day drive to Dehradun by taxi (175 km, 7-8 hours)
What to Pack
- Backpack of 50-60 liters
- Sturdy hiking boots (preferably all-leather upper for better ankle support; break them in before the trek to avoid blisters)
- Lightweight tennis shoes/sandals for wearing in camp
- Wool socks: 2 pairs (preferably thick wool socks)
- Nylon socks: 2 pairs (to be worn under wool socks to prevent blisters)
- Hiking shirt: 1 (preferably long sleeve)
- Long John top: 2 (thermal underwear, preferably wool, to be worn as the first layer)
- Warm shirts & pants for camp: 2 each
- Raincoat/Poncho: 1 each
- Warm jacket: 1
- Wool gloves: 1 pair (as thick as available in the market)
- Long John bottoms: Preferably wool, to be worn as the first layer
- Underwear: 2-3 changes
- Hiking shorts/pants: 1
- Sun hat: Cotton or nylon
- Sunglasses: Preferably with an anchor
- Sun protection lotion (optional)
- Lip balm/chapstick (optional)
- Water bottles: 2 bottles of 1-liter capacity (Pepsi bottles work well; ensure they do not leak)
- Headlamp/flashlight (preferably a headlamp to keep hands free; bring extra batteries)
- Toilet articles: Toothbrush, toothpaste, etc.
- Personal medical kit (small one)
